FASSIFERN PHYSIO UPDATES JULY 2025

  • Staffing: Fassifern Physio would like to welcome our 2(!) new Senior Physiotherapists, Kathryn and Elissa, to the practice. Both have more than 12 years of clinical experience apiece meaning the our little country practice can boast over 40 years of combined musculoskeletal Physiotherapy experience. This will ensure that the practice continues to exclusively provide Senior Physiotherapy services to benefit our community.

  • Contact Hours: Clinic hours will increase with extra availability before and after work hours from August 1st. Please continue to book through the website or by contacting us directly on 0448 087 921.

  • Fees: Fassifern Physio will formally adopt the 2024 Worksafe Qld Fee schedule (https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/service-providers/fees) from the 1st of August. In our effort to remain accessible to the needs of the local community these fees will still remain below market rates for equivalent services in Ipswich or Beaudesert and will not increase in September 2025 when the worksafe fees are due to increase once more.

  • Treatment Times: Initial Assessment times have increased to 45 mins long (previously 40 mins). Subsequent appointments will remain 30 mins. Our practitioners will always take extra time as required to make sure you receive the best care we can offer on the day.

  • Medicare/EPC: July 1st saw changes to the "care plan" schemes known as Medicare EPC and Team Care arrangement schemes Australia wide. These schemes have been streamlined into a new GP Chronic Management Scheme. Fassifern Physio will continue to accept these referrals in an effort to help you best manage your health. There will no doubt be some teething as this new format no longer requires your GP to manage how you use your 5 visits each year and it will be your responsibility to recall how many you have used. In more positive news the Medicare subsidy for physio treatement has been raised to $61.80 meaning that your out of pocket costs will remain at $39.20 per treatment despite our fee increases.

  • DVA: Fassifern Physio will continue to support our community’s DVA recipients by accepting DVA approved referrals.

  • NDIS: Fassifern Physio will continue to support NDIS recipients. To ensure you get the best care for your condition we will continue to be discerning in the patients we accept as we want to ensure that we are appropriately trained to manage your condition. As such we will continue to advise that in most instances Paediatric Neurological patients are best managed by Specialist Paediatric Neurological Physiotherapists as this is a very highly specialised discipline age cohort and discipline. We are happy to help you to find an appropriate facility/provider if your child has such a condition. We are happy to provide multi-disciplinary care that is overseen by a Specialist Paediatric Neuro physio on a case by case basis.

  • Private Health Insurance: Fassifern Physio will continue to process your claims onsite at the time of your treatment to reduce your admin burden and out of pocket costs on the day. The specific rebate amount will vary according to your cover so please contact your health insurer for a quote.

  • Aged Care Packages: We will now once again be attempting to better service the community by offering home rehab services to those in the community who are vulnerable enough to receive Home Care Packages through My Aged Care. Travel charges apply. These appointments require prior approval so please contact Anthony on 0448087921 to discuss before booking.
